What is an Urgent Care?

MedDirect Urgent Care is an excellent choice for a wide variety of simple or moderately complex medical problems that are not serious enough to be judged as emergencies. The staff at MedDirect Urgent Care provides high quality, convenient medical care for non-life threatening injuries and illnesses.

Because we have three convenient locations and we do not require an appointment to be seen, we are here to meet your needs, especially under the following circumstances:

  • When your regular primary care doctor’s office is unable to schedule you right away or is closed
  • When you are away from home
  • As an alternative to hospital Emergency Rooms, which tend to me more costly and have longer patient waiting times

Western Nevada College Students
A partnership program between WNC and MedDirect Urgent Care centers offers students at the college basic urgent care at a reduced rate. Students who are currently enrolled in three or more credits may obtain basic urgent care services for a single flat fee of $79 per semester, and a $10 co-pay per visit. The fee is non-refundable. Due to specific nursing program guidelines, this does not apply to WNC nursing program students. 

Health Fairs
MedDirect offers Health Fairs to the public, and on-site to employers in Carson City, Douglas County and Lyon County. This is a valuable and inexpensive benefit for your employees. For information and references, contact Kathi Haynie at 775/445-7330.

 

Should you go to Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center Emergency Room?

If you are experiencing any of the following please go to the Emergency Room:

  • Chest pain (we will send you to Carson Tahoe by ambulance if there is a possibility of a heart condition)
  • Severe or large burns
  • Unconsciousness
  • Seizures
  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Stroke

With the closing of ARC MedCenters in Carson City and Dayton, we want to remind you that MedDirect is available with convenient walk in accessibility for all of your Urgent Medical needs.  Your ARC medical records are available by calling 775.445.8568. 

08/20/09 - Nevada Day is Coming!

MedDirect Urgent Care is proud to be participating again in this year’s Nevada Day Parade. We will have a drawing for 4 lucky people to be “patients” on our float. If you would like to enter your name in our drawing drop by any MedDirect location and fill out an entry form. The drawing will be held on Friday, October 16, 2009. We won a second-place award last year, so come out this year and see what we have in store for you! We will also be giving out gifts along the parade route, as we have done the past two years. We’ll see you there!
